Though I only met her once, I am inspired to live up to her vision of a different world.

As I have said elsewhere, however, she has left a legacy in writings, in scrapbooks of war tax resistance-related events, and in a spirit which we can all emulate in her honor. As her 31-year-plus friend, colleague, and dare I say, her adopted family, I am determined to honor her legacy, and as we regroup, resume co-administratorship of the New York City People’s Life Fund.

I will always cherish the memory of the Mae West-like lilt of Sallie’s voice, and honor our Mae West of the War Tax Resistance Movement, as we affectionately referred to her.
