This is the first time any of my Congress folk have responded to my tax letter! While he doesn’t say he supports WTR, he’s not keen on the Pentagon funding as it stands… From Rep. Mark DeSaulnier (CA, Dem): “Thank you for contacting me regarding funding for the Department of Defense. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with me on this important matter.
As you noted in your e-mail, I have been pushing for an audit of the Pentagon for years and what we got was wholly insufficient. I agree with you in principle that any amount of bloat at the Department of Defense should be re-allocated to underfunded areas that are in need, like education, housing, transportation, and others. Without doing an in-depth analysis of the Department’s funding, however, I fear that we would just be making another mistake by just taking funding. A true, genuine audit should be done and it should be done now. We should not continue to waste federal taxpayer dollars, especially not while there are so many other deserving places for that money to be spent.”

Regardless of whether The weapons are used or not they represent the theft of resources from the great number of people who do not have healthcare or enough income to meet their needs.
